The Instagram of arguably the world’s most popular home improvement magazine is full of ideas and inspiration for interior decorating and ‘the domestic arts’. While it might be a little US centric it’s still well worth a follow.
Ikea UK
We considered not including Ikea UK’s page in this list because we thought it might be a little TOO obvious. The Instagram of this brand, ubiquitous with interior design, is rich with beautiful images of their products in locations around the world. Perfect for keeping up with the latest trends, styles and products.
The Modern House
With over 107K followers, The Modern House can claim the prize for the ‘World’s Least Detested Estate Agent’ award. Specialising in the sale of properties that adhere to the central themes of Modernism, their feed is a directory of ‘to-die-for’ housing around the UK. It is sure to give you some inspiration on what your next home improvement could be.
Mad About The House
Kate Watson-Smyth is the UK’s most influential interiors guru with an army of 105k followers. Her Instagram and blog is teeming with design knowledge for you to absorb. With a best selling book and the UK’s favourite interiors blog under her belt, Kate is more than worth a follow.
The Gathered Home
Brynne Delerson believes that a home should be what she calls “a gathered one” — full of items collected over the years that have a story to tell. Her Instagram is a mix of eclectically decorated interiors, vintage items and DIY ideas.
The House That Jen Built
A truly inspirational Instagram full of stunning interior ideas. Follow this feed to observe as the eponymous ‘Jen’ transforms a period property in Liverpool into a scandi-chic, yet cosy, oasis of style.
Come Down To The Woods

Before you ‘Gram
Instagram is a great source of ideas for home improvements, from quick fixes to major projects, but don’t let it be your sole source of inspiration also look in magazines, blogs (like this one!) or just out and about in the real world before making a decision about the decor for your latest project. It’s also important to get an expert opinion, as that’s the only way you can be sure that your ambitious plans would actually translate into a habitable space.
